Lessons Learned

Our first focus group for our first project. . . poor turn out. No, miserable turnout. With such a tight time frame, I am tired just thinking about rescheduling it. But we persevere. We will spend more hours sending emails and making calls. We will even show up on folk's door steps with invites and fliers. We will leave no stone unturned. Our per hour take on this will probably be one dollar. Which really means about 65 cents after uncle Sam takes his. But after a while, we will learn how to work smarter and not harder, and not longer, and not wearier. Nevertheless, we are making contacts and connections. After all, that's what makes a business succeed, right?

Wonder Woman can give you her lessons learned. As you can tell, I keep it brief. I get over-stimulated and need to rest my brain so I can be productive for 4 or 5 more hours tonight.

Later,
Cas

A Hard Days Work!

Up early... no rest for Casblog and I. Up and out on a Sunday to get the job done.

I went to church this morning... on tv. These days I need an extra word from God and if I don't make it to a physical church building the next best thing is BET and TVOne on Sunday morning. Don't laugh... some of you did the same thing.

Church, my morning cocktail to fight off this cold (lemon tea w/ honey, airborne, vitamins, cough drops with echinachea, and my hand sanitizer)... Cold... I will win. And then...

Off to Staples and OfficeMax...
Business Start up Side bar: if you are "on the grind" trying to get started, you should look into joining a recycle center in your community. The recycle center we are a member of is GREAT! We can get office supplies and other things that we need, but unfortunately we can't get everything so we have to go to the kingpin of office supplies every now and then.
Staples and OfficeMax was an adventure. As we went down the list of things we needed to get. I began to wonder... how many meetings can we facilitate with one 30 page pad of Post-It flip chart paper... every page counts... not mistakes we will have to scratch it out or draw a picture over it and keep using the page... that's $1 per page. NO MISTAKES!

Anyone with a Staples employee discount... a sista needs a hook up.

After Staples off to the office... work work work

Who would have guessed you could send emails for over 4 hours...
Maybe I can find some compassion for a few of the dum dums on the day job that work overtime sending out emails... on second thought... I will probably see more results from my 4 hours of emails today than the dum dums have in 12 months of emails. I digress...

Emails, phone calls, creating forms, creating more to do lists, more emails, more work...

I left the office/Casblog's house around 8pm, but we both continued to work past eight. Putting in the hard work for Synergy is well worth the long hours and restless nights as thoughts of "what's next" run through my head and interfere with my sleep. One of my friends that usually responds to my S.O.S. calls or text messages, said the tiring hard work is like exercise... the results will be amazing... I will remember that and push through.

To our friends that are supporting Synergy "on the grind"... taking my Sunday afternoon S.O.S. calls and helping me do more outreach for a big meeting on Tuesday... THANK YOU... Much luv... your support is truly appreciated.

Well another hard day at work is done... and I am blessed to be on this adventure with Casblog... we are doing it!

We started a business!

So, we started a business. Do you realize how incredible this is? Well you will soon. Wonder Woman and I will tell you all about it. But first, I am going to go rest on my little air mattress in front of the t.v. This is what I do after I work the day job and then have to think about all the things we need to do for our consulting work. So, I'll either get back to you. Or she'll fill you in.

I'm too tired to be productive right now. I just started a business.
